And we’re off! The first day of competition kicked off this morning with a initial flight round marked by weather conditions that were much more complex than they appeared on the surface.
While ground wind seemed relatively light, pilots had to contend with significantly stronger winds at higher altitudes.
On the provisional leaderboard, Finland’s Lassi Nurila took the lead on Panel 1 by the end of the day. However, the suspense is far from over: several top contenders will take to the skies tomorrow morning on this same panel to complete their runs.

This afternoon, flights kicked off on Panel 2 in slightly tougher conditions, with more established winds and strong thermals coming into play. Handling the tricky air currents best, Antonin Paysant-Le Roux took the lead on Panel 2, though the field remains tightly packed.
